To satisfy our trade a portion of ticket sales will be donated to KUNI Public Radio. It is also possible that Iowa Public Television will be at the Bowl this year! **Advanced Tickets** You may purchase your advanced Bowlful o' Blues tickets at Hy-Vee West Newton, Mattingly Music and other ticket outlets to be announced. You can also request them by mail at Post Office Box 951, Newton, Iowa 50208. As per usual we will have a variety of prizes both free and raffle at the Bowl. John's Custom Guitars will be offering a raffle for a guitar. So fill out those advance ticket stubs with your name and number to get your chance at prizes!! Workshops In fulfilling its mission statement, the South Skunk Blues Society will offer various musical workshops throughout the day on September 6th at the Bowl. With the current budget cuts, this is our way of offering additional instruction for the performing arts. Currently we have scheduled workshops in the following areas: Vocals, guitar, drums, harmonica, horns and piano. These workshops will be lead by experienced, talented individuals. Currently we have the following workshops scheduled: * BeJae Fleming - Vocals and Guitar Duo * David Zollo - Song-Writing * ToneKing - Electric Guitar * Dave Moore - Harmonica and Picking Guitar After Fest Jam Session There will be an After Fest party at hotel Best Western Newton Inn, located South of I-80 and Hwy 14. Telephone 1-800-373-6350 for rooms. Pool side rooms are at a minimum. There is a full bar, food, pool and of course, music. A free breakfast will be available on September 7th. About The BowlThe Bowlful o' Blues is our big annual musical event. It is held at Maytag Park in Newton, Iowa every summer. We have been host to many famous and excellent blues performers, including Big Jack Johnson, Li'l Ed & the Blues Imperials, Long John Hunter, Tinsley Ellis, RJ Mischo, Willie Kent, the BelAirs, the Blues Notions, Super Chikan, Big Al & the Heavyweights, Catfish Keith, Chubby Carrier, Reverend Raven & the Chain Smokin' Altar Boys, Joe Price, and Patrick Hazell.
